New Hampshire Fisher Cats outfielder Ryan Patterson has been named the Bank of America Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending June 1st.
Patterson had an excellent week for the Fisher Cats hitting .448 (13-for-29) with one double, five home runs, 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four walks, and a 1.000 slugging percentage in seven games. The 25-year old had a hit in six of the seven games he played in during the week and hit a home run in four of the seven games, including a 4-for-5 performance with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored in a 12-5 win over Portland on Saturday night.
The Dallas, Texas native is hitting .297 for the Fisher Cats this season and is tied for first in the league in extra-base hits (26) and ranked second in doubles (18). Ryan, who hit .267 with 18 homers in 111 games with New Hampshire last season, was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 4th round of the 2005 draft after hitting .369 with 20 home runs and being named First Team All-SEC as a junior at Louisiana State University.
