Today the Blue Jays acquired Jonah Bayliss from the Pirates for a player to be named later.
The 27 year old right handed pitcher was 0-3 with a 6.00 ERA in 28 games for the Indianapolis Indians — the Pirates Triple-A affiliate. Bayless was designated for assignment by the Pirates at the end of spring training.
"Bayliss is the type of player that teams should be looking for on the waiver wire. He has good stuff, but has struggled with control. If he can figure that out, he can be a very solid reliever." - Neal Huntington, Pirates Manager
Not quite sure why this move was made, so I’m officially starting a rumor that a trade for Burnett is in the works... Burnett out, Purcey up and Bayliss takes his spot in Syracuse. Or maybe theres an injury down there, haven’t checked in a while.
Either way someone tell J.P. that he got the wrong J. Bay[less].
