BLUE JAYS ADJUST PITCHING STAFF
The Toronto Blue Jays have selected the contract of LHP Brett Cecil and have recalled RHP Robert Ray and RHP Brian Wolfe from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).

The Toronto Blue Jays have selected the contract of LHP Brett Cecil and have recalled RHP Robert Ray and RHP Brian Wolfe from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA). LHP David Purcey, LHP Brian Burres and RHP Bryan Bullington were optioned to Las Vegas to make room on the roster.
 
Cecil, 22, has posted a 0-3 record with an 8.31 ERA in four starts for the 51s. The 38th overall selection of the 2007 draft pitched at three levels last season, combining for an 8-5 mark with a 2.88 ERA in 118.1 innings. The Dunkirk, Maryland native is scheduled to make his major league debut on Tuesday, May 5 vs. the Cleveland Indians.
 
Ray, 25, has appeared in two games, one with Dunedin (A) and one with Las Vegas (AAA) this season. The 6-5, right-hander tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in his last start, April 26 for the 51s, allowing two hits, three walks and three strikeouts. A 7th round pick in the 2005 draft, Ray will make the start tomorrow vs. Baltimore, his major league debut. Ray recorded an 8-6 mark with a 3.91 ERA at New Hampshire (AA) in 2008.
 
Wolfe, 28, has made nine relief appearances for Las Vegas, posting a 0-1 record with a 3.46 ERA. The Fullerton, California native has spent parts of the last two seasons with the Blue Jays, going 3-3 with a 2.81 ERA in 58 games. He has held major league hitters to a .227 batting average in his 67.1 innings of work.
